Feeding

Feeding depends greatly on your axolotl’s age!

24-48 hours after hatching, they will have yolk in their bellies and won’t need food, after they will require live food such as:

Baby brine shrimp

Daphnia

As they grow, black worms are the recommended diet, though they are difficult to come by at the moment.

As they grow into juveniles, it’s important to feed them a diet primarily consisting of nightcrawlers or red wiggler earthworms. Certain pellets can be used as a side, but shouldn’t be the primary diet as they don’t offer proper nutritional benefits.

Hikari Sinking Carnivore Pellets or Rangen Salmon Pellets are great sides!
