Tubbing

Sometimes it may be necessary to tub your Axolotl, to cycle a tank, because of a crashed cycle, to avoid cohabitation, etc. 

Tubbing involves getting a container that holds at least 5 gallons of water, filling it, conditioning the water, and changing the water once a day every 24 hours. It’s important to either not fill the tub completely or put a towel or lid over it to prevent jumping, which can be fatal.
